Why, Miley, why?

“I’d love to do a younger, cleaner version of Sex and the City,” she told US magazine TV Guide.

Ok, first of all, I don’t like Miley Cyrus.  It’s nothing personal towards her, I just have issues with children being insanely famous.  Secondly, how the hell does she know anything about Sex and the City?  Granted, the show wasn’t porn, but it wasn’t your afterschool special either.  I don’t know what about that show would be appropriate for anyone at all under the age of 18 or so.  And of course, her quote begs the question, how can one do a “cleaner” version of SATC?  By its very nature, by its very title, there is nothing clean about it.

The singer and actress wear a purity ring signifying her strong Christian faith and desire to remain a virgin until she marries.

She explained: “I like to think of myself as the girl that no-one can get, that no-one can keep in their hand. Even at my age, a lot of girls are starting to fall and I think if [staying a virgin] is a commitment girls make, that’s great.”

….

Cyrus found herself at the centre of a scandal earlier this year when Vanity Fair published a picture of her apparently topless beneath a satin sheet. She was forced to apologise to fans.

Even racier photographs are currently doing the rounds on the internet, purporting to show the teenager showering in a wet T-shirt, but they have been dismissed as fakes.

I have no problem with people wanting to remain a virgin until they get married or until they are ready for it.  I do think that the whole cult of virginity is overrated, but that’s just my opinion.  So, yay for her for paying lipservice to the perma-virgin/abstinence folk.  Keep in mind, this is the girl that sent pics of herself in her undies and posed provacatively to her boyfriend.

Again, nothing wrong with that, but she is underage.  Did you see the latest round of pics that are alleged to be her?  I don’t think that they are fakes.  Yeah, I know, someone hacked her phone.  Young adults shouldn’t even be taking pics like that.  Or maybe they should – maybe taking sexy pics is part of exploring one’s burgeoning sexuality these days, I dunno.  All of her quotes from the story are just weird, I think.
